Pro Paraguay to bude poprvé, co bude mít čest hostit tuto náročnou rallye, tudíž se stane 29. zemí, ve které se Rallye Dakar jel. Největší část Rallye Dakar 2017 ale povede přes Bolívii, kde bude celých pět etap. Během nich se závodnicí podívají například k jezeru Titicaca nebo stráví den odpočinku v nejvýše položeném hlavním městě na světe v La Paz, které leží v nadmořské výšce téměř 4000 metrů nad mořem.
Paraguay
Paraguay má populaci téměř 7 milionů lidí a geograficky je rozdělena řekou Paraguay, která stát dělí na dvě poloviny. Mezi nejznámější sportovce Paraguaye patří fotbalový brankář Jose-Luis Chilavert, která byl zvolen brankářem roku organizací FIFA, a tenista Victor Pecci, který se dostal do finále Roland Garros v roce 1979 a dnes je Ministrem sportu.
Bolívie
V roce 2014 dostala Bolívie poprvé šanci představit se v Rallye Dakar a od té doby se stala stálým účastníkem, kdy ukazovala krásy solných plání kolem Uyuni, které patří k největším na světě.
In addition to its regular visitors, in 2014 Bolivia hosted the Dakar motorcycle competitors for the first time, giving them the opportunity to discover the sumptuous Uyuni salt flats, the largest salt desert in the world. In 2015, the car crews also had the chance to experience the unique welcome that the Bolivian people provide the rally and in 2016 the entire bivouac stopped over in Uyuni. Now connoisseurs of the region, the rally competitors will take the adventure further in 2017, all the way to Lake Titicaca and then to La Paz. Five stages in total will be fought out in the country of adoption of the Liberator of the continent, Simon Bolivar.
Argentina
Argentineans have enjoyed immense moments thanks to the competitors that carry their colours on the rally. Since 2009, the Patronelli saga that has been the big story with five titles won in the quad category by Marcos and Alejandro between 2010 and 2016…and the promise of the duo returning to the highest level this year! Argentina is also defended with honour in the car category by Orlando Terranova, who has justified his status as a podium contender by finishing twice in 5th place. Last January, Argentina was also represented on the podium in the truck category thanks to the reconversion of Federico Villagra (3rd).
